#SameRightsForAll Launches at Scottish Parliament

We recently unveiled our #SameRightsForAll campaign – aimed at raising awareness of essential rights enjoyed by society at large, including the Gypsy/Traveller community.

The launch, hosted at Scottish Parliament on February 20th, was an inspiring affair and well-received by attendees, who had the privilege of engaging with MSPs, Gypsy/Traveller community members, partner agencies, and the young individuals featured in the campaign's suite of informative videos.

The Videos: A Deep Dive into Our Rights

At the heart of this campaign are five information videos, each addressing fundamental rights that are enjoyed by everyone in society.

These videos serve as a tool to empower the Gypsy/Traveller community with knowledge about their rights. The videos were created as a collaboration between Gypsy/Traveller community members and experts in various rights domains from our partner agencies.

The videos are available to view and download below:

Freedom of Information – in collaboration with The Scottish Information Commissioner.

Environmental Rights – in collaboration with the Environmental Rights Centre Scotland.

Right to Health – in collaboration with Alliance Health & Social Care

Privacy & Personal Information – in collaboration with The Information Commissioner's Office.

Right to Education – in collaboration with Enquire.

A Collective Effort

MECOPP would like to sincerely thank the organisation’s that contributed time and resources to this campaign, providing a unique opportunity for meaningful conversation around rights shared by all.

We invite everyone to join us in sharing this campaign far and wide, advocating for #SameRightsForAll. Through knowledge and awareness, we aim to empower the Gypsy/Traveller community to stand confidently in their rights, and contribute to a more equitable and just society.
