Community Involvement - Opportunity to be involved in decision making.

As part of the Scottish Government 2040 Housing Strategy, £20 million was made available over a number of years to assist local authorities to improve and increase site provision for Scotland’s Gypsy/Traveller communities.

The first round of applications has taken place and 6 local authorities have been assessed to go forward to the next stage.

Scottish Government and COSLA want to ensure that the community is involved in the decision making process.

To support this, we are looking for community members who want to be involved.

You will be asked to look at a summary of the applications focusing on community participation and engagement. You will be asked to give your views and to develop a question or questions which will be asked of the 6 local authorities.

You will be able to attend a meeting on the 30th September where the local authorities will be asked to present their plans. Your views will be part of the final decision on which local authority gets funded.

If you are interested in taking part, please contact Suzanne Munday either by email on suzanne@mecopp.org.uk or you can call on 07957 652 413. The meeting will take place online and you will be supported to participate.
