Self-Directed Support Videos

We are working to make Self-Directed Support accessible to all communities and have identified a significant gap in information for people who speak English as a second language.  When talking about SDS with carers we support, we learned that people were confused by the language used and that the SDS jargon doesn't translate well.  In response we have developed a short animated video explaining what SDS is, how it works, and what it can do.  The video is aimed at South Asian and Chinese people with support needs and is available in English, Bengali, Cantonese, Punjabi or Urdu.  Click on the language you want to watch below.

The video gives a simple introduction to SDS and should be a starting point for a wider conversation about a person’s needs and wants, and what is available in their local area.

DVDs containing all five language videos are available on request.  Please contact info@mecopp.org.uk
