Is a Chinese Carers Support and Development Worker

I joined MECOPP in October, 2018 after leaving for a few years as I was an outreach and development worker in East, mid and West Lothian for MECOPP in 2011-2012.

I was a registered nurse and midwife worked mainly in Accident & Emergency Dept in Hong Kong. I came to Edinburgh in 1995 and started to connect with Chinese communities as a volunteer, worked in part-time jobs and developed a big passion in Chinese community work. I had worked as Chinese Linkworker in MEHIP (now known as MEHIS) in NHS Lothian for years. Then I studied Interpretation & Translation and I have been working as an interpreter for City of Edinburgh Council and NHS Lothian, speaking both Cantonese and Mandarin.

I studied counselling skills and some part-time courses about relationship, marriage, child development and psychology.

While I am not working, I like reading, listening to music, watching news, volunteering in meeting and caring for Chinese overseas students who came abroad from their own countries.
