Committed to Excellence Award for MECOPP

9 March 2011

Following a year's intensive work MECOPP has received "Committed to Excellence" Accreditation through the European Framework of Quality Management. This work was supported by CEMVO. It involved the staff team and Board working on three priority courses of action to improve the way MECOPP operates as an organisation. These actions related to the areas of Strategy, Process, Customer Care. The actions which we chose were:

  • Improving assessments of proposed projects/programmes (Strategy)
  • Imroving the way we review existing projects/programmes (Processes)
  • Enabling overall client and professional feedback (Customer Satisfaction)

Initially, it was very challenging for staff and board to grapple with different ways of developing and reviewing the way we work. However, by trying practical changes, it became clear how it is possible to improve levels of involvement, scrutiny and effectiveness regarding decision-making and feedback gathering. The Committed to Excellence accreditation lasts for two years. in the next year MECOPP will work to fully embed in our work practices the improvements we have developed in the three areas of action. After that we will decide what level of accreditation we should seek over the following year.
